The Tranquility Room is a flexible space for everything from an intimate gathering to a large catered reception.

Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Mortuary believes that a funeral service should be as unique as the person it honors. Our professional planners take the time to find inspiration—a favorite song, hobby, trademark style, defining philosophy or lifelong passion—for a memorial service filled with thoughtful and meaningful details. We are innovative thinkers who will honor a music fanatic, classic car lover, green thumb, movie buff or any other in an uncommon and wonderfully memorable way. We celebrate life.

On-site crematory

Cremation is important in certain religions and cultures. More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial options, but most people aren’t familiar with all of their choices when it comes to cremation. You may choose a direct cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind; a funeral with the body present, followed by cremation; or a cremation followed by a cemetery service or a celebration of life.

The private on-site crematory at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Mortuary means that your loved one never leaves our care. If you wish, cremated remains can be placed at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

History

Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Mortuary & Memorial ParkHarbor Rest Memorial Park was founded in the 1950s by the Flanagan family. Harbor Lawn Mortuary was built on the cemetery property in 1978. To celebrate the expansion, Ronald Reagan, California’s 33rd governor and later the 40th president of the United States, raised the flag that flies at the entrance. Reagan was the keynote speaker at the cemetery's annual Memorial Day service that year.

Mt. Olive Cemetery was established in the 1960s to serve the Jewish communities of Orange County and Long Beach. Several temples have since dedicated their own areas of the cemetery.

Today, Harbor Rest Memorial Park and Mt. Olive Cemetery operate as a single cemetery: Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park. It and the funeral home are part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers.

Honoring veterans

Veterans section at Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & MortuaryOur Veterans Memorial pays tribute to the heroes who served our nation. Thanks to the donations and hard work of the Costa Mesa community and local veterans’ organizations, we expanded the Veterans Memorial area in 2008, installing a brick pathway that leads to an American flag. Each brick is inscribed with the name of a deceased veteran, birth and death dates, and terms of endearment. This section of our cemetery provides a stirring setting for our annual Memorial Day observance.
